This is not a commercial project—everything on this site is free to use for personal and educational purposes.
As a recently retired RAAF Training Systems Officer, I created this platform as a way to continue engaging with military history in retirement. I wanted a structured, practical way to study military topics using modern AI tools—and to share that system with others who enjoy learning as much as I do.
The prompts were originally built using the subscription version of ChatGPT, but they work well on most free AI platforms, including ChatGPT Free, Google Gemini, and Perplexity.
Pick a topic prompt from the site—e.g. air power, strategy, combined arms.
This is a work in progress and currently the only finished topic is Air Power.
Copy and paste it into a free AI tool.
Ask follow-up questions to explore the subject in more depth.
Get structured, credible answers based on a curated reading list.
A Structured Course in Air Power—No Exams, No Textbooks, Just Exploration
The Air Power section of this site is now complete and self-contained. If you work through the full set of prompts, it offers a structured, topic-by-topic overview of military air power—covering doctrine, history, technology, strategy, and current issues.
There are no exams, no set textbooks, and no fixed order—you can follow your curiosity, explore tangents, or jump between topics. But if you work through the full series, it functions as a coherent and effective informal course that will build a strong understanding of air power as a military instrument.
Importantly, this isn’t passive learning. You are an active participant—the way you ask questions, challenge responses, and shape the conversation drives your learning. The prompts are just the starting point; how you use them is what makes this system effective.
Free AI tools generally do a good job, but there are a few things to keep in mind:
Session limits – some free AIs forget earlier parts of the chat after a few exchanges.
Usage caps – you may be limited in how many prompts or follow-ups you can ask in one session.
AI isn’t always right – if a response seems off, question it. Offer your own view. Ask the AI to compare perspectives or explain which view is more likely on balance of probabilities—especially when the topic is contested or complex.
While the prompts are free for personal and educational use, they are also a structured, curated compilation that represents original creative effort.

JBGPTS's PROMPTS NUCLEAR WEAPONS: The development and use of nuclear weapons stands as one of the most consequential gambles in modern military history. Initiated under the intense pressures of World War II, the atomic bomb project combined extraordinary scientific innovation with geopolitical urgency. The destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki showcased nuclear weapons’ unparalleled destructive power, compelling Japan’s surrender and heralding a new era in warfare. Yet from the outset, their strategic utility was shadowed by ethical controversy, environmental cost, and the spectre of mutually assured destruction. While nuclear deterrence became a pillar of Cold War doctrine, the weapons themselves remained constrained by their political and humanitarian implications—immensely powerful, but deeply paradoxical in their limited employability.
